How to Wear and Care for Your Silicone Mask or Sleeves
Your Mr E Masks piece is made to be worn and enjoyed. Take a moment to identify which instructions apply to your item before its first use. Full-head masks, face-only masks and sleeves are fitted differently.
Before wearing
Start with clean, dry skin. Check your item and locate any openings it has, along with straps or finger sections where applicable. Openings vary by design; not every mask has a separate nose opening. Keep sharp jewellery and fingernails away from the silicone, and handle painted and detailed areas gently. If something feels uncomfortable or restricts your vision or breathing, remove the item and adjust it before wearing it again.
Full-head silicone masks
- Before putting it on, check how your mask is designed for you to see and breathe.
- Ease the mask over your head gently. Position it so you can see and breathe comfortably, then smooth the silicone into place without pulling on sculpted details, hair or thin edges.
- Check the fit and take breaks during longer wear.
- To remove it, gently slide your hands under the lower edge to release it from your skin. Ease it up and off slowly, supporting the silicone as you go. Do not pull on openings, the nose area, hair or other detailed areas.
Face-only masks with straps
- Position the mask over your face and align any openings it has.
- Adjust the straps until the mask sits securely without feeling too tight. Check that you can see and breathe comfortably.
- To remove it, loosen the straps first. Support the mask as you lift it away rather than pulling on its edges or details.
Silicone sleeves: fitting and removal
For sleeve fitting, have a spray bottle of isopropanol (at least 97% alcohol) ready. It is flammable: use it away from flames and heat, and follow the product label. This fitting aid is for the sleeves, not an instruction to spray masks or use it near your face.
- Make sure your hands and forearms are clean and dry. Gently roll the sleeve down towards the wrist.
- Lightly spray isopropanol inside the hand section of the sleeve to help it glide on.
- Carefully guide your hand into the finger sections and expel trapped air before continuing.
- Gradually unroll the sleeve up your forearm, smoothing out folds and air pockets as you go.
- To remove it, peel back from the upper edge and roll down slowly towards the wrist. If needed, spray isopropanol inside the hand section to help release the hand and fingers. Never pull sharply from the fingertips.
Cleaning and storage for all silicone items
After use, gently clean the silicone with mild soap and water. Rinse and allow it to air-dry completely before storing. Handle edges, painted details and any hair gently. Keep your item in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and sharp objects; store sleeves flat or loosely rolled. Do not put an item away while it is still damp.
